Millington is a city in Shelby County, Tennessee. As of the 2000 census, the city had a population of 10,433. It is the home of Memphis Motorsports Park. The city is located about 9 miles north of Memphis, Tennessee in Shelby County. The city is close to Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park, Fort Pillow State Historic Park and the Mississippi River.As of the census of 2000, there were 10,433 people, 3,633 households, and 2,699 families residing in the city. There were 3,633 households out of which 41.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.6% were married couples living together, 14.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.7% were non-families. 21.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. -- Source: Wikipedia.com
